A
NATURAL PROTEIN COULD BE USEFUL TO STOP THE PROGRESSION OF NEURODEGENERATIVE
DISEASES
In a recently published study,
it was formulated that a type of protein that helps cells respond
to the heat, cold or other stressing forms within the environment,
could be useful to stop the progression of neurodegenerative illnesses
as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease or Huntington Chorea.
The authors successfully used
one of these proteins – Hsp27 – to reduce death cells in animal
brains. Mice were manipulated to present high levels of Hsp27
in the brain, spinal cord and other tissues which presented lower
death rates and brain cellular death after having shots of a toxic
substance that harms the brain |
