SKETCHES ON HEALTH AND SCIENCE IN CUBA.

This is a work in continuous
development, which affects the solution accepted by the Cuban
society to preserve the first of man’s rights, that is, health,
with the aim of tracing a path of hope to nations of the Third
World involved in these purposes. In its pages, a panoramic sight
of those bases is offered, as they constitute the programmatic
foundations as well as theoretical, political and methodological
ones for the assistential development and preparation of human
resources achieved by Cuban Medical Sciences and public health
in general. It is performed as an expression of the Fulfillment
of the Moncada Program – the foundation of such bases upon which
the Cuban policy health program was created.
The work is structured in four
chapters: - The development of a scientific policy as to medical
sciences in Cuba and the fundamental results obtained in investigative
activity, especially in the obtention of medical pharmaceutical
products, medications, equipment and technologies.
- The scientific development
and assistential services, as well as health community programs,
including hospital services, policlinics and clinical-surgical
attention are offered in urban and rural populations
- The scientific, theoretical
and methodological bases that guide the development of the Cuban
School of Medicine
- The ways of medical assistance
and collaboration of specialists and Cuban medical services for
the attention of health problems to other countries in adverse
circumstances. Besides, a brief outline if offered too in the
form of a catalogue of the most important Products and institutions
of the Cuban scientific activity in favor of medicine and of Health.
