Title: BACK TO LIFE

The basis for the creation of the book “Back to Life” lies in the recollection of 14 years’ experience and work in the field of Neurorehabilitation at the International Center of Neurologic Restoration – CIREN – as part of its Neurologic Restoration Program and the effort and dedication from each one of CIREN’s multidisciplinary team members and workers.
This publication is not only
the result in the field of neurorehabilitation developed at CIREN,
but also the joint effort of this center and the Cuban State through
its National Health System in improving the neurological patients’
quality of life.
The book “Back to Life” has 182 pages organized into 4 chapters that describe the Intensive Multifactorial Rehabilitation System (IMRS), the work developed on physical capacities and motric abilities comprised in this system. Evaluation is described here as a component of this work, as well as ethical aspects in the attention to patients suffering from neurological diseases and abstract selections of CIREN’s scientific development up to 2002. It also has photographs of different performed activities and of some patients with Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis who have managed to reincorporate themselves to sports activities after treatment at CIREN.
