CIREN’S Department of brain Nuclear Medicine offers NeuroSPECT
service aimed at the detection and assessment of brain vascular
diseases, the differential diagnosis of dementias and the identification
of an epileptic focus in partial epilepsies on the base of the
temporal lobe, refractory to medical treatment and possible surgical
solution. Other applications, fundamentally related with investigations
on Parkinson’s Disease, are within the scope of clinical
research in a progressive consolidation process as routine tests.
The Department has an SMV-DST-Lxi dual head gamma camera and a
ZLC-3700 single Head SIEMENS camera.
Other Nuclear Medicine studies
for the detection of functional alterations are also performed
by this Department related to other organs, among which are studies
on renal, bone, cardiovascular and thyroid systems.
