Our neurobiochemistry lab has among its principal analytic tools,
a high resolution chromatography that allows the quantification
of small concentrations of varied molecules – endogenic
and exogenic – present in different fluids and biologic
tissues.
This technology is used in the
measurement of anti-convulsive pharmacology in the patients’
serum, who use this type of medication, allowing the clinician
to adjust doses. Anti-convulsives, whose concentration is possible
to be evaluated at this lab are: carbamazepin, phenitoin (convulsive
o 5,5 –diphenilhydantoin) and Phenobarbital.
This lab also performs studies
of amino-biogenics and its catabolites in serum, cephalorachideal
liquid and tissue, as well as the oxidative stress system and
enzymes that Prevent harm. Another aspect is the purification
of NGF Murine.
